From distinguished invitations and appointments to meaningful appearances in significant publications, Bowdoin faculty members had a productive summer of important and creative contributions.

Associate Professor of Art Jackie Brown participated in the Digital Clay Art Residency at the Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Edgecomb, Maine.


Assistant Professor of Theater Germán Cárdenas-Alaminos was the scenic designer for Portland Theater Festival’s production of Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spiegel.

The Portland Press Herald praised Cárdenas-Alaminos's skill in transforming Portland's Merrill Auditorium into a resplendent ancient Egypt for Opera Maine's Aida.

Piano instructor Gulimina Mahamuti accepted the nomination as Music Teachers National Association vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion. MTNA is one of the nation’s leading professional organizations for musicians and music teachers.


Associate Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology Erika Nyhus published an article in Psychophysiology with Syanah Wynn on the role of neural oscillations in memory.
