Leadership Awards
These honors are presented at the annual President’s Luncheon and recognize students who exemplify the values of the Bowdoin community and the specific qualities celebrated by each award.
Andrew Allison Haldane Cup
Established in 1945 in memory of Capt. Andrew Allison Haldane, USMCR, ’41, this award is presented to a member of the senior class who demonstrates outstanding leadership and character in service to the common good. The recipient is someone who exemplifies the values of mentorship, friendship, and leadership, making a lasting impact on the Bowdoin community.
Michael Francis Micciche III Award
Created in 2001, this award honors a senior who fully embodies the Bowdoin experience — a student who actively engages with the College community , consistently achieves academic excellence , and earns the respect of both peers and professors. The recipient must also plan to broaden their education following graduation, whether through graduate school, structured travel, or a volunteer program.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Cup
Presented annually since 1945 and furnished by the Bowdoin chapter of Alpha Delta Phi Society, this cup honors a first-year, sophomore, or junior whose vision, humanity, and courage most contribute to making Bowdoin a better college. Selected by a committee of Bowdoin alumni, the recipient exemplifies a deep commitment to service, dedication, and lasting impact on campus life.
