College Provided Housing

Date: January 2009

Policy: The College does not provide housing free of cost to its employees with the exception of its President, certain positions in Residential Life, teaching/language fellows, and certain special contractual short-term arrangements. Employees in these positions are required to reside on campus due to the nature of their job. Expenses for maintenance and upkeep including grounds and utilities (except private telephone) will be incurred by the College. The value of these benefits is excluded from the employee’s wages pursuant to IRS guidelines on lodging provided for the convenience of the employer.

The College maintains a small supply of apartments and houses for rent to new faculty and staff members. Rental charges are established according to comparable properties in the local market.
