As a Summer Associate at North Haven Capital I took on the responsibility of maintaining the company's investor and investment database in a CRM called Affinity. I also had the opportunity to work hands-on with the investment team to assess new investment opportunities through quantitative financial modeling and qualitative market research.

  • North Haven Capital is a is a multi-family office backed private investment group that invests in lower middle market ($1MM EBITDA and above) family and owner-operator businesses in the Northeast United States.
  • Throughout this summer I worked closely with NHC founding partner, Sam Sezak, to communicate with owners of small businesses that were in the process of selling their company. We discussed and projected financial metrics by way of LBO models and industry trends of each respective business, extensively. I was also able to join meetings with potential investors and understand what their thought process was as they decided to allocate capital to particular investments based on their expertise.
  • I learned that I have a particular fondness towards the quantitative side of investment decisions
  • This provided me with great experience on the buy side of finance and gave me the opportunity to understand both sides of the table before my sell side investment banking internship next summer.
