Ben Carroll ’27: Emergency Department Technician at Mid Coast Hospital

This summer, I worked as an Emergency Department Technician at Mid Coast Hospital, a local community hospital in Brunswick. In this role, I collaborated closely with doctors and nurses in the emergency room to support patient care. My responsibilities ranged from cleaning rooms and assisting patients with their most basic needs to performing Electrocardiograms and assisting doctors and nurses with more advanced patient care.
Through this experience, I gained valuable insight into both the technical and interpersonal aspects of emergency medicine. I learned that I thrive in high-pressure settings and enjoy being part of a team that must act quickly and effectively to provide care. This experience confirmed my interest in pursuing a career in medicine!
