Private Equity Summer Intern
By Andrew Mendelson ‘26This summer I worked for a private equity group called PPC. My role consisted of conducting financial due diligence and modeling financials for potential acquisitions. I learned a lot about the investment process and how companies are bought and sold.
PPC focuses on manufactured products and services businesses valued from $200 million to $1.5 billion. The firm is family-owned and works alongside target companies to help them grow with their current leadership. During my time there, I created an Indication of Interest (IOI) presentation and presented it to the investment team. The IOI is the first major step in the deal process.
This summer I learned about new interests in the financial world that I didn’t know before. Going forward I want to include more client-facing work along with the technical skills I learned this summer. Throughout this process, I learned skills such as financial modeling, public speaking, and networking. I know these skills will be crucial as I continue pursuing a career in finance. One of my favorite parts of the internship was being able to connect with the more senior people around me. One of the advantages of working at a smaller firm is being able to get to know everyone you work with and get invaluable career advice from people who have worked in the industry.
Internship funded by the Robert S. Goodfriend '57 Summer Internship Fund.
