Developing strong research skills within the environmental industry

The National Wildlife Federation is the largest private, nonprofit conservation and advocacy organization in the U.S.

I primarily worked on composing a research report on agrivoltaics. This involves reading highly technical literature and rendering the information into an easy to read and understand review.

I learned how large environmental nonprofits operate. The internship helped me envision the exact pathway I want to proceed in-both in continuing my education and pursuing in my career. By talking with different members of the organization, I now better understand just how much I can do with my humanities degree.

I developed the planning skills necessary to complete a several month long project and developed research skills to craft a strong, informative, yet persuasive narrative. I loved the writing and research process in my internship! I also enjoyed attending extracurricular talks and meetings to round out my knowledge and interactions with different sectors within the environmental industry.
