The El Paso Museum of Archaeology preserves and interprets archaeological and anthropological artifacts from the El Paso region and beyond, aiming to educate the public about cultural heritage through exhibits, programs, and outreach.

During my internship, I assisted with summer camps, field trips, public programs, exhibit installations, and worked on a collections project. I developed a passion for curation and collections management, finding fulfillment in artifact handling and preservation.

This experience furthered my interest in museum curation, providing hands-on training in artifact management and exhibition processes. Working directly with collections and participating in exhibit installations deepened my understanding of how curation enriches public education about cultural history.

Internship funded by the Gormley Internship Fund.
