This summer I worked on two major projects; a CIS upgrade and an initiative that researched citizen engagement best practices in New England.
- I helped a major US city upgrade their utility billing system, which is also known as a Customer Information System (CIS). My assistance focused primarily on software testing where I conducted tests to assure the software worked as intended.
- I attended the Northeast Contact Center Forum annual conference to learn about call center best practices and meet with companies providing software and services to call centers.
This internship gave me real life experience into what the consulting industry is really like. I got to learn about business processes and analyze where improvements can be made, as well as experience with sales, marketing, and utility processes. This grant made it possible for me to pursue this opportunity and allowed me to learn that the consulting industry is something I can see myself doing in the future because of its need for problem solving and most importantly the collaboration and communication with others. My favorite part of the summer was being able to attend the NECCF conference at Gilette stadium where I got to listen, learn, and interact with call center professionals from around the US.
Internship funded by the Robert S. Goodfriend Summer Internship Fund.
