Reporting on important sports news

This summer, I worked as a sportswriter for the Portland Press Herald, a daily newspaper that serves a statewide audience while focusing on southern Maine. I also was lucky enough to help write for the Kennebec Journal, a paper that serves a more northern audience in the state. Through working with more experienced sportswriters at both newspapers, I developed valuable writing and editing skills that will serve me in the future.

During my time at the Press Herald, I was able to observe the paper's ownership change from a privately owned paper to a nonprofit. This massive shift in the paper's plans imbued the office with optimism, and it was a very exciting process to observe from the inside. I met many amazing people over the summer who are reporting on important issues throughout the state, and I am excited to keep reading the Press Herald now knowing about all the work behind the scenes!

I have printed out some of my favorite articles I wrote, and they are available to read. Feel free to ask me any questions about the articles!
