The Middlesex DA's Office aims to protect and serve the people of Middlesex County through exhaustive investigations, fair prosecutions and compassionate victim advocacy. The Office is also committed to innovative crime prevention and intervention initiatives, and works with numerous community partners.

As an intern, I assisted with the investigation and prosecution of major felonies including murder and involuntary manslaughter. My responsibilities included summarizing jail calls, examining medical records, and transcribing police interrogations.

My internship's highlight was touring the Billerica House of Correction's interior. Here, I learned about the prison's protocols, saw various sections of the prison, and conversed with the inmates. I also had the chance to directly watch courtroom trials, observing trails involving murder, rape, stalking, and cocaine trafficking. This internship confirmed my desire to attend to law school, although I remain uncertain of which field of law I wish to practice.

Internship funded by the Peter Buck Internship Fund.
