This summer, I worked in New York City for 10 weeks as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst for JEGI CLARITY. I helped match technology and media companies wishing to sell with private equity and strategic firms looking to buy.

  • JEGI CLARITY is a pre-eminent M&A advisory firm for the global media, marketing, information and technology industries. They advise founders, investors and global corporations with a range of services including buyside and sellside M&A advisory, recapitalizations and divestitures, as well as debt advisory solutions.
  • I worked on live transaction marketing material such as confidential information presentations and discussed them directly with client management. I also constructed customer databases, market analyses, and valuation models which were used when pitching to clients. Lastly, utilizing Pitchbook and Capital IQ, I directed research to source potential buyers.
  • I learned how to enhance pitches to clients, efficiently work in Excel and PowerPoint, and understand key accounting and financial concepts that will help in future jobs.
  • I really enjoyed working with the bankers at JEGI CLARITY and reviewing transaction material with clients. I also enjoyed participating in buyer meetings and hearing the types of questions typically asked.
  • This summer affirmed my interest in investment banking and financial services as a long-term career. I also really enjoyed living in New York City.
