Learning about myself

The company that I worked at was Gul-Mat Offset Printing, one of the leading printing companies in Turkey, located in the city of Bursa. They can manufacture almost everything, from books to decorative paper structures but their specialization is in boxes and product labels. They work with private companies, both domestic and international, as well as the government during election times.

I worked at the Accounting and Finance department. I was in charge of keeping track of the details of the goods that arrived at and left the company. I handled bank checks, mail order forms and many other financial documents. I contacted our client companies to check if we agreed on balances and delivery of the orders.

I learned about myself that I don’t like doing repetitive work. I need to work on different stuff every week or so. Also, I saw that I am not a person who can deal with financial issues every day. One of the things that I enjoyed doing the most was solving problems related to computers. It looks like I will choose a career where I will work with computers and program.

I think I improved a lot at social interactions. By the time I left my job there, I was talking with almost everyone, from the workers to the boss. I made a chocolate cake for the people in the office on my last day, which you can see a photo of on the right.
