The Center for Art Law is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that offers educational resources and programming for the advancement of a vibrant arts and law community. The Center hosts events, publishes articles, and releases monthly newsletters relating to art law.

As an intern, I published three articles on topics relating to antiquities trafficking, FSIA disputes, auction house suits, and street art’s relationship with the law. I also wrote the June, July, and August newsletters, posted on and maintained the Center’s social media pages, and networked with members of the Center’s advisory and director boards.

Based on my time at the Center, I am planning to go to law school and become an art lawyer. Through this internship, I explored the intersection of my love of art and interest in the law. I am excited about the potential career opportunities ahead!

I learned valuable legal researching skills, such as Bluebook formatting and proper case citations. I also analyzed full complaints, petitions, and rulings, and am now well-versed in how to read a court document.•My favorite part of the internship was in the revision process of my case review article. The attorney representing the defendant in the case reviewed and edited my article before I published it. This was an incredible learning experience!
