Save the Date
The 217th Commencement of Bowdoin College will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2022! Additional celebratory events will also take place on Friday, May 27.
A complete schedule of events will be released in late March. For planning purposes, below is a general idea of what to expect (all times and events are subject to change.)
Friday, May 27
-Departmental & Academic Program Open Houses (late morning & early afternoon)
-Special events with Honorary Degree Recipients (afternoon)
-4:30 p.m. The Baccalaureate Ceremony. This special event marks the official close of the academic year and the coming together of graduates and their families. It features remarks by President Clayton Rose, a speech by a graduating senior, and a keynote address by one of our honorary degree recipients.
-5:30 p.m. Dinner for members of the graduating class, their guests, faculty and staff. Meal tickets are required and will be available in the Spring.
Saturday, May 28
8:00 a.m. Guest seating opens
9:15 a.m. Commencement Processional begins
10:00 a.m. The 217th Commencement Exercises of Bowdoin College. The Commencement ceremony will be held outside on the quad in front of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, except in the case of severe weather. If rain is forecasted, come prepared with an umbrella and other rain gear. No tickets are necessary for the outdoor ceremony, and you may bring as many guests as you wish.
