1098-T

Overview

Bowdoin is required to provide enrolled students with IRS Form 1098-T prior to January 31 for the previous calendar year.

If you wish to receive the 1098-T electronically, please enroll through Heartland ECSI by December 31 of the tax year.

A full explanation of education tax credits can be found in the IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education, or by calling 1-800-829-3676 (1-800-TAX-FORM). Whether a taxpayer may take advantage of these benefits depends on individual circumstances.

Bowdoin College cannot provide legal or tax advice.

Off-Campus Study

Bowdoin cannot report payments to another institution on its 1098-T.

We suggest the following documentation in place of the 1098-T form. Consulting a professional tax advisor for clarification in individual circumstances is strongly encouraged.
