Conversation and Connection On Tap at London Alumni Event with Andrew Rudalevige

By Bowdoin News

More than thirty alumni and several current students gathered on March 11, 2026, for a lively reception at the Union Club in the Soho district of London, featuring a conversation and Q&A with Andrew Rudalevige, Bowdoin’s Thomas Brackett Reed Professor of Government.

An honorary professor at University College London and a leading scholar of the modern presidency, Rudalevige discussed executive powers vested in the president in Article II of the US Constitution and the evolution of those powers since the framers’ original design and fielded questions regarding immigration, war powers, executive orders, and budgeting.

The event, a reminder of the strength of Bowdoin’s global community and the connections Polar Bears maintain far from Brunswick, was sponsored and hosted by Matt Roberts ’93 and Michael Sullivan ’94 in partnership with alumni relations.
