We will hear from Andy Serwer '81 P'16 P'20, who will conduct a timely discussion with Fred Hill '62 aptly named "Business News and the Business of Media in America", where Andy will discuss the current state of the media, with a particular focus on business news as it pertains to politics, culture and just plain old business itself. Question: Is a permanent state of flux an oxymoron? Andy’s talk will be followed by questions and conversation.


Andy Serwer is a 1981 graduate of the college and serves as trustee. He is the parent of Emily ‘16 and Katie ‘20 and is a longstanding summer resident of Georgetown, Maine. Andy is currently Editor at Large at Barron's, covering a wide range of topics. Prior to Barron's, he led Yahoo Finance’s editorial team for nearly eight years. He spent 29 years with Fortune Magazine, where he was that publication's top editor for eight years. He was also the business news anchor of CNN’s American Morning from 2000-2006. Serwer is the 2020 winner of the Elliott V. Bell Award for financial journalism and a number of other journalism awards.
