Financial Aid Application Requirements and Deadlines

It is important that you submit the required application forms on time to guarantee consideration for all financial aid available to Bowdoin students, including grants, student employment, and loans. Please allow sufficient time to complete all of the required steps. Missing the deadline may limit the amount of Bowdoin need-based grant aid available.

Note: CSS Profile, FAFSA, and IDOC opened on October 1, 2017, for the 2018-2019 financial aid application cycle.

Requirements for U.S. Citizens & Eligible Non-Citizens

*After the CSS Profile is submitted, you will be able to access IDOC in your College Board dashboard under the "Next Steps" heading. You may also access IDOC by logging in on the IDOC website. You will use IDOC to submit 2016 U.S. tax forms and other required documents. Here are additional instructions on how to find the Verification Worksheet and Non-Tax Filer Statements on IDOC.

Guidance is available for noncustodial parents who need assistance creating their own College Board account.

If you submit a noncustodial waiver request, please note that Bowdoin requires a third-party statement and court documents (if applicable).

Requirements for All Other Applicants (Domestic and International Students who are not U.S. Citizens or Eligible Non-Citizens)

* Parent/student taxes upon request only. Prospective students should check their applicant portal periodically to see if we require additional documents from them.

Important Note: International students who do not receive financial assistance from the College at the time of admission will not be considered for financial aid in subsequent years.
