Education

I have a BA in Social Relations & Psychology from Lehigh University; an MA in Social Relations & Counseling from Lehigh University and a PhD in Sociology from the UMass, Amherst.

Background

I spent a number of years as a faculty member teaching courses in sociology, criminology, gender, and race and ethnic relations.  I have served as a dean since 2007 and enjoy working with students on their personal, social, and academic growth.  Prior to my appointment as the Dean for Student Affairs at Bowdoin, I served as the Dean of Students at Kenyon College and then here at Bowdoin as well – after eight years as the Dean of First-Year Students at Bowdoin.  I live in Yarmouth with my spouse and we have three children.
