Doug Cook

Director of Communications
Responsibilities:

Doug oversees content and media relations at the College, managing coverage of institutional news, faculty and the academic program, and the student experience on the Bowdoin website and via the College's official social media channels. He also pitches stories and faculty expertise to national media, coordinates faculty and staff interviews, handles information requests from media outlets, and serves as a college spokesperson. Doug also oversees content and distribution of monthly electronic newsletters to alumni, donors, and parents and families.

Background and Experience:

Doug joined Bowdoin in December 2006 following a fifteen-year career in broadcast journalism as a news anchor and reporter. An Emmy-nominated journalist, Doug contributed reports to ABC News and CNN. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Western Michigan University.
