Yuchen Luo

Professor Luo's research engages questions related to political sociology, culture, and China studies. Her research agenda is unified by a central question: how do narratives operate as political tools, and how do people resist and transform these narratives? To address this, she applies computational methods to large scale texts. She has two main lines of research. The first is on right-wing political discourse in the United States. The second focuses on how nationalism is shaped through moral claims in China.
