Fulvia Sarnelli

Adjunct Lecturer in Italian
Fulvia Sarnelli is Adjunct Lecturer in Italian Studies at Bowdoin College. She holds a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from the University of Napoli “L'Orientale” and has lived and studied in the United States and in the People's Republic of China, as well as taught Italian language and culture in both countries. The main focus of her work is contemporary Asian and Asian American literature and Italian and Asian migration and diaspora studies. She is also interested in and has published essays on cultural, political, philosophical, and psychoanalytical theories of the imagination, identity, subjectivity, race, gender, the national/transnational. She is currently working on a book about comparative literatures and modernities.
