Across three lively days, the Bowdoin community came together to cheer on teams, revisit favorite places, celebrate old traditions, and make new memories—all part of what makes coming back to Bowdoin feel like coming home.
The football kickoff event set the tone, bringing generations together to swap Whittier Field stories, trade advice, and send a surge of spirit toward game day. Coaches, current players, parents, and alumni all joined in, finding common ground in the huddle and demonstrating that Bowdoin’s team culture extends far beyond the sidelines.
Bowdoin Hillel welcomed alumni to Shabbat dinner at Ladd House on Friday evening. Saturday morning and afternoon centered on athletics across campus, with stands full and sidelines buzzing.
Before the men’s soccer match, a special pregame recognition celebrated the 1976 Bowdoin men’s soccer team, who were ECAC Division II runners-up and the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League’s top Division II team, and honored the legacy of coach Charlie Butt. Later in the day, the men’s rugby team hosted a gathering for alumni, team members, coaches, and guests.
Also on Saturday, LGBTQ+ alumni gathered to exchange stories with students and staff from the Sexuality, Women, and Gender Center, followed by Harvestfest, Homecoming Weekend’s signature event with hundreds in attendance to enjoy food, beverages, and live music by Primo Cubano.
As evening fell, the community dinner brought Polar Bears together to share in warm conversations with new and familiar faces.

The dinner was cosponsored by the Association of Bowdoin Latinx Alumni (ABLA), Bowdoin College Black Alumni Association (BCBAA), and RepresentAsian: Bowdoin’s Asian Alumni Association and highlighted some of Bowdoin Dining's exciting offerings.
Past and present Ursus Verses members celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary of music, friendship, and community. The occasion included a concert in the chapel, followed by a reception and dinner.
Capping the night, ABLA hosted an all-levels salsa class where students and alumni learned the basic steps before putting them to use on the dance floor. With plenty of beginners in the room, everyone had a chance to learn something new, enjoy an evening of music, movement, and smiles all around.
