Natalie Emmerson ’27 and Larsen Van Horn ’27, the brains behind Pine State Politics, the nonpartisan, educational podcast about the election process in Maine, have been very politic themselves about getting the word out about their platform.
Launched this spring, the podcast has welcomed guests including US Senator Angus King, former US Secretary of Defense William Cohen, and current Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.
This summer, cohosts Emmerson and Van Horn have leveraged the podcast’s partnership with Maine’s Department of Education, with which they are helping to create lesson plans for high school teachers, to raise awareness of their efforts on various news outlets.
