How to REALLY Be Kind (Hint: It’s Not about Being Nice)
By Tom PorterNovember 13 is World Kindness Day— the perfect time to hear from author and speaker Houston Kraft '11, who shares what it means to be truly kind in his recently published first book, Deep Kindness: A Revolutionary Guide for the Way We Think, Talk, and Act in Kindness.
Kraft is a kindness advocate and cofounder of the nonprofit CharacterStrong, which works with thousands of schools across the US and internationally to create and promote educational content that teaches compassion and empathy.
“That distinction between nice versus kind is a profound one,” said Kraft in a recent interview with CNN. “Most of our world would say that they're kind, when they're actually just being nice.” Click here to read Houston Kraft’s CNN interview.
