Wind in the Pines weaves memoir, video, sound, and dance to create an immersive excavation of a family's experiences in Japan during World War II.
Centering around Assistant Professor of Dance Aretha Aoki’s Japanese family history during World War II, Wind in the Pines attempts to make the past feel present, despite language barriers, geographical and cultural distances, and the imperfection of memory.
The performance is March 29, 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall's Wish Theater. Tickets available at the Smith Union student help desk.
