The subject of happiness was up for discussion on Maine Public Radio’s daily call-in program, Maine Calling, on Friday, October 6, 2017. How do you define happiness? How can we achieve it? How can we measure it?

Helping to answer these questions was Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology Kelly S. Parker-Guilbert. She was one of three guests on the show, along with philosophy professors Paul Schofield from Bates College, and Kate Wininger from the University of Southern Maine.

When it comes to the question of measuring happiness objectively, Parker-Guilbert told program host Jennifer Rooks that this is something psychologists are currently grappling with.
