Former Dean Judd Named President of Sarah Lawrence College

Cristle Collins Judd, who served as Bowdoin’s dean for academic affairs from 2006 to 2015, has been named the eleventh president of Sarah Lawrence College.

During Judd’s nine years at Bowdoin, she led efforts to develop and implement critical new programs and policies dealing with faculty sabbaticals, governance, diversity, retirement, parental leave, and partner accommodation.

Judd left the College to join the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation as senior program officer for higher education and scholarship in the humanities.

Judd begins her new duties as Sarah Lawrence College president in July 2017.
