Behind the Scenes at the Krazy Kat Production

Video produced by Collin Litts ’18.

If you want to escape from reality for eighty minutes this week, check out the show Krazy Kat, featuring a kaleidoscope of existential characters as they explore the forces of life, love, and the pursuit of bricks against the backdrop of an enchanted desert. The show, which is based on the George Herriman comic strip character popular in the 1920s and 30s, features a mouse called Ignatz who throws bricks at the eponymous cat, and a canine policemen, Offisa Bull Pupp, who tries to stop them.

The poet E. E. Cummings described the original comic strip as “a meteoric, burlesque melodrama.” Professor of Theater Davis Robinson, who helped devise the original show some twenty years ago, is bringing an all-student cast to the Pickard Theater November 10-12, 2016.
