Active Cases
Students in Isolation: 0
Students who test positive for COVID-19 are moved into a facility set up for isolation. They are not permitted to leave their room. All meals are delivered to them and Bowdoin Health Services monitors their symptoms and progress via "telehealth." Students are allowed to return to their original residence hall only when they have been cleared by Health Services. During isolation, a care team of professionals from the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, Residential Life, Counseling Services, and others work to ensure that isolated students receive the help and advocacy they need.
Students in Quarantine: 0
Any student identified through contact tracing as a close contact with someone testing positive for COVID-19 is required to be in quarantine for fourteen days as mandated by the Maine CDC. A close contact is defined as someone who was within six feet of an infected individual for a duration of longer than fifteen minutes and within seventy-two (72) hours of that individual's positive test. Students in quarantine are moved to a residence hall set up for the purpose. Food is delivered by Dining Services, and a care coordinator is assigned to each student quarantined. Health Services works with students in quarantine to perform follow-up COVID-19 tests as necessary.
