Three days after Valentine’s Day the love was flowing anew on February 17 for BowdoinOne Day, which also happened to be National Random Acts of Kindness Day.

It started in the morning with Holy Donuts provided by HR and included therapy dogs sponsored by H-L Library, free chair massages, courtesy of Wellness Outreach Services, SWAG’s kindness-themed Quinner, and the bookstore’s fifteen-percent discount and raffle, among other acts of kindness, making for a cheerful vibe across campus.

In addition, 1,268 alumni, families, and friends made a gift to the College, and hundreds shared words of encouragement to students on a Kudoboard.

“Throughout the day I heard students yelling, 'Happy BowdoinOne Day!' and I saw their smiles as they read notes of encouragement from the Bowdoin community and witnessed their excitement when they encountered acts of kindness taking place all over campus,” said Director of Annual Giving Christi Lumiere, who expressed her gratitude to alumni, families, and friends for their support and words of encouragement.

“Kindness spread to every corner and reminded us all how grateful we are to be part of this wonderful community.”
