We’re glad you’re here! Life on campus is always evolving, so times, locations, and events may be subject to change. Check back often for any updates. Events with an asterisk (*) are mandatory for program participants.

Arrival and Check-in*

You'll be picked up from either the Portland Transportation Center, the Portland International Jetport, or the Brunswick train station by a staff member and brought to the Admissions Office for check-in. More details with specific itineraries will be sent via email.

Class Visits

Use the class list (linked here) to choose a real Bowdoin class to shadow. Please make sure you can arrive to the class early to introduce yourself to the professor and plan to stay for the entirety of the class.

Interviews for earlier-arriving students*

Have a half-hour conversation with a current Bowdoin student, staff, or faculty member. The interviewer will guide a back-and-forth conversation, and there will be plenty of time for you to ask questions.

Find your interview time and location in your email and on the back of your name tag.

Welcome Meeting and Program Overview*

Overview of schedule and expectations for your stay on campus. You’ll meet the Explore Bowdoin (EB) team and get introduced to your EB group (Suns and Pines!). Your overnight host will pick you up from this meeting and take you to dinner.

Hear from Dean of Admissions Claudia Marroquin ’06, who came to Bowdoin as a first-generation and low-income student from Los Angeles. Come ready to ask questions.

Gender-Inclusive Bathrooms
Most buildings on campus, including the Admissions Office, have a gender-neutral bathroom available—most are single-stall, locking bathrooms labeled “private restroom.” Smith Union and the Bowdoin Outing Club have multi-stall, gender-neutral bathrooms with more privately constructed stalls.

Free and open to the public. Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum
Free and open to the public. 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
