Fall 2023: The 39 Steps

Adapted by Patrick Barlow. From the novel by John Buchan/From the movie by Alfred Hitchcock.

Fall 2023:  December Dance Concert

Three classes and two solo student dancer/choreographers performed a total of five highly creative dance pieces.  Advanced Repertory and Performance, taught by Gwyneth Jones, included Kami Atcitty, Lia Busby, Alexa Comess, Maya Le, Gabrielle Phillips, Dylan Richmond, Fernanda Rodas, Juliana Vandermark, Gabrielle Waller-Whelan and Emmy Wheatley. Introduction to Hip Hop, taught by Lindsay Rapport, included Miranda Baker, Caroline Berney, Ava Biasotti, Izaiah Diaz, Kavya Doraswamy, Yonas Gebregziabher, Miya Imaeda, Maya Lee, Bhadra Mishra, Sara Morcos, Alexis Mullen, Gabrielle Phillips, DJ Piper, Shumaim Rashid, Noah Rockey and Daniela Zarraga.  Making Dances in the Digital Age, taught by Scott McPheeters, included Tori Bacall, Libby Boutin, Joey Brink, Isabella Fernandez, Abderrahim Kandoussi, Ruby Khalyat, Connor Latona, Liliana Lines, Sophie Maguire, Shihab Moral, Amaya Nicklas, Saniya Ridley, Emilia Tutun and Seamus Woodruff.  A solo piece by student Dylan Richmond, and another by Mia Vinding, were also performed.

Spring 2024:  Valor, Outrage and Woman

Presented by the Departments of Theater and Dance, Music, Latin American, Caribbean and Latinx Studies and Romance Languages and Literatures.

Directed by Sylvia Cervantes Blush. Costume design by Lily Prentice.  Scenic design by Germán Cárdenas-Alaminos; lighting design by Gregg Carville. Margaret E. Boyle was the Dramaturg; Ireri E. Chávez-Bárcenas was the Music Consultant. Live music was played by Ensemble La Chimera, led by Artistic Director Eduardo Egüez and featuring Nell Snaidas, Soprano.
