How Did You Hear About Bowdoin?
I got lucky and went to a boarding school in the U.S. and someone told me they were applying to small liberal arts schools. Coming from Lithuania, I didn't know what they were, but I liked the idea of a small community, of not have to declare a major early on, and investigating various disciplines. And it's true, I love Bowdoin. You don't have to worry about anything. You just focus on doing your best, on getting this education, and everything else is taken care of. There's a really good balance between giving students nurture and independence.

What Advice Do You Have For Other International Students?
I would really tell students to look at the promise of the college and see how that fits with their idea of what an education should provide. The Offer of the College, "to be at home in all lands and ages," is very real here. Bowdoin students truly believe in that and admire it; they are committed to seeking the common good -- not just in getting ahead.

What Do You Like Most About Being at Bowdoin?
I've discovered so many things I love and things I don't like. Which is great - that's what college is for. Swing dance ... oh my God! I love swing dancing. I have to explain to my friends back home what it is. I never thought of myself as any kind of dancer, but there you go. Turns out I'm quite good at it!
