Optimization Kick Off

The first phase of Bowdoin's Workday implementation has begun! We have engaged with Alchemy for a process called "optimization," which is a methodology by which we discuss with Alchemy the functionality we are already using in Workday and the additional items we would like to add to our existing environment. This process begins January 2022 and is scheduled to conclude in Fall 2022.

Alchemy will review our current environment and speak with staff who use the system currently to observe which areas we are using well and which areas we would like to see improved. We'll also be discussing functionality that we aren't currently using that we'd like to take advantage of. Alchemy will make recommendations about which items they believe will bring us the most value, and we will work together to make these updates and implement new functionaltiy. 

The Bowdoin team consists of our HR partners and our payroll and expense colleagues in Finance, as well as team members from IT. Together we'll prioritize our needs and wants alongside Alchemy's recommendations and make a plan for the months to come.
