Jacob Fay works on issues of educational ethics, philosophy of education, and education policy and practice. He draws on scholarship from multiple disciplines, including history, sociology, psychology, and philosophy, as well as his experience as a middle school history teacher. His most recent works are Democratic Discord in Schools: Cases and Commentaries (Harvard Education Press, forthcoming 2019) and Dilemmas of Educational Ethics: Cases and Commentaries (Harvard Education Press, 2016), both with Meira Levinson. Currently, he is completing a project that details a novel approach to theorizing about injustice bysynthesizing philosophical theories of injustice with developmental psychology. Fay is also beginning a new project that rethinks traditional political concepts like autonomy in the context of child development.
