Presidential Search Committee—May 20, 2022
To the Bowdoin community,
We are very pleased to announce the membership (below) of the Presidential Search Committee that will lead the work to identify the sixteenth president of our college. These individuals—representing trustees, alumni, the faculty, students, administrative staff, and support staff—were chosen by the board of trustees for their experience, expertise, and varying perspectives, and for their understanding of the College and its constituencies. Brief bios of the committee members can be found here on the Bowdoin website.
The committee will conduct a focused, inclusive, and comprehensive search aimed at identifying the strongest candidates possible for this critical position, with the goal of presenting a timely recommendation to the full board of trustees, which will make the final decision. While much of this work must remain confidential, the committee will engage the full Bowdoin community both in person and virtually to solicit your views about what to look for in Bowdoin’s next president and your thoughts about the future direction of the College.
Members of the committee will be investing a significant amount of time and energy in this process, and we are tremendously grateful for their enthusiasm and willingness to participate in this work. We will soon launch a website to provide information and updates about the search and a way for members of the Bowdoin community to submit comments, insights, and ideas to the committee. Committee members are excited and ready to get going, and we thank you in advance for your support and ongoing participation in the process.
