Message to the Bowdoin Community—Sarah and James Bowdoin Day (October 23, 2020)
To the Bowdoin community,
Today is Sarah and James Bowdoin Day, a tradition that dates back to 1941 when we recognize students who have distinguished themselves through academic achievement.
Normally, this is an opportunity to come together in Pickard Theater for a ceremony that is at the core of what we do at Bowdoin. But while the pandemic prevents us from doing that this year, I hope you will still take a few minutes—wherever you are across the country and around the world—to explore the website we’ve created to showcase both the history of Sarah and James Bowdoin Day and the academic achievements of our students.
Of course, these student achievements would not be possible without the high standards and guidance provided by our amazing faculty and the support of our devoted staff. Thank you for your dedication to the students we celebrate today and for all you do for them and for our College.
All the best,
