In Case You Missed It: Bowdoin Chorus and Concert Band Performances

The Bowdoin chorus presented “A Celtic Christmas” with Castlebay Harp and Guitar Duo in Studzinski Recital Hall, Kanbar Auditorium, on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18. With Anthony Antolini ’63 at the podium, the Chorus sang music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall, in both English and Gaelic.

On Nov. 19, John P. Morneau conducted the Bowdoin College Concert Band in a program celebrating the cultural heritage and great music of the people of the southern regions of the United States. Special guest trombone soloist, Dan Barrett (professor of low brass at the University of Maine, Orono) was featured on Clifton Taylor’s “Slidin’ Down the Mississippi.” Works by George Gershwin, Frank Ticheli, David Holsinger, Mike Markowski, David Gorham, Bill Locklear, and Barry Kopetz also were featured.

These two concerts, and many other performances and talks, can be watched at Bowdoin Talks.
