The New England Society of News Editors (NESNE), an offshoot of the New England Newspaper and Press Association, has awarded The Bowdoin Orient first runner-up in its 2017 college newspaper of the year competition.
Editors-in-chief Julian Andrews ’17 and Meg Robbins ’17 represented the paper to accept the award at a ceremony April 20 in Dedham, Mass.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by an organization like NESNE, it is a great honor,” said Andrews. “This award reflects the phenomenal efforts of our whole staff throughout this entire year.”
The Orient was second only to The Harvard Crimson, coming out ahead of Boston University’s The Free Press and Castleton University’s Castleton Spartan, which took second and third runner-up, respectively.
