On-Campus Booster Clinic—October 20, 2022

To the campus community,

Mid Coast-Parkview Health will offer a COVID-19 bivalent booster clinic on Wednesday, November 2, and Thursday, November 3, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at Farley Field House that will be open to students, faculty, and staff, as well as the local community. The clinic will be providing the Pfizer booster at no charge.

Please go to https://vaccine.mainehealth.org/ to schedule your appointment. Select “Mid Coast Community Base Clinics, Bowdoin College Farley Field House” for this clinic location.

We strongly encourage each member of our community to be vaccinated with this new bivalent booster as soon as possible. In addition to providing protection against serious illness, hospitalization, and death, vaccinations continue to play a vital role in reducing the transmission of the virus.

The new Pfizer and Moderna booster shots specifically target the most prevalent, highly contagious Omicron subvariants (BA.4 and BA.5) of SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19—and both booster vaccines have been recommended by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and are authorized by the FDA, the Pfizer booster for people ages twelve and older, and the Moderna booster for those eighteen and older.
