Established to support Maine high students striving to be the first generation in their family to graduate from college, The Dory Fund supplies necessities such as eyeglasses, dental care, textbooks and transportation to students in need, making it possible for them to stay on track with their ambitious goals to graduate high school and to beat the odds stacked against them completing college.

This fund is named in honor of founding Bowdoin Upward Bound director, Dory Vladimiroff, whose work embodied the transformational power of education coupled with action. Her legacy continues to inspire us to assume the generous perspective, to affirm one another and to invest in the long shot.
