A talk by honorary degree recipient Anthony E. Doerr '95, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, in Pickard Theater, Memorial Hall.
A talk by honorary degree recipient Charles A. Leavell, conservationist, musician, and musical director for the Rolling Stones, in Kanbar Auditorium, Studzinski Recital Hall.
A talk by honorary degree recipient Fatuma Hussein, founder and executive director of the Immigrant Resource Center of Maine, in Kanbar Auditorium, Studzinski Recital Hall.
4:30 p.m. Baccalaureate Ceremony
The Baccalaureate Ceremony, held in Watson Arena, marks the official close of the academic year and the coming together of graduates and their families. It includes remarks by President Clayton Rose, speeches by two graduating seniors, and a keynote address by honorary degree recipient Hanna Holborn Gray, Harry Pratt Judson Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of History and president emeritus, University of Chicago.
Down East Lobster Bake
Immediately following Baccalaureate, join us for the Down East Lobster Bake. Tent adjacent to Farley Field House (next to Watson Arena). Entrance on Coffin Street. Seating in the Field House. Meal tickets are required.
Saturday, May 27
Seniors meet at Baxter House to line up for the procession.
Faculty meet in front of Hubbard Hall and alumni meet in front of the Visual Arts Center to line up for the procession.
Commencement Processional March begins.
212th Commencement Exercises
The Commencement ceremony will be held outside in front of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, except in the case of severe weather. If it’s raining, bring an umbrella and other rain gear. No tickets are necessary for the outdoor ceremony, and you may bring as many guests as you wish. In the event of severe weather, the ceremony will be held in the Sidney J. Watson Arena.
