In the third course-related exhibition to inaugurate the faculty-curated Becker Gallery, Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies Jennifer Scanlon will incorporate modern and contemporary prints and photographs in Lawn Boy Meets Valley Girl: Gender in the Suburbs to address issues of urbanization, suburbanization, and the changing gender and social roles prompted by the mass expansion and development that occurred in mid-20th-century America. This exhibition will include work by Barbara Kruger, Garry Winogrand, Paul D’Amato, Jo Spence, and Laurie Simmons.
