Data Scientist
Sharon has worked at Bowdoin since 1995. In Institutional Research, Analytics and Consulting she uses a combination of statistics and programming to perform advanced analyses to support decision making across the college. Previously working in Information Technology, she was the technical lead for data warehousing with Bowdoin's Student Information System, was the technical lead on two accounting software conversions, and had primary responsibility for Bowdoin's advancement and financial software. Prior to moving into computing, Sharon held postdoctoral research fellowships in California and France, and was on the mathematics faculty at Bowdoin for four years. In her graduate work, Sharon studied differential geometry. Sharon earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges. She earned her master's and doctoral degrees in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.
