Campus Climate Survey for Students (October 18, 2021)
You will soon be asked to respond to the National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates (NACCC) survey that will be administered at more than sixty liberal arts colleges in the US.
It is an essential part of our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work because it provides systematic measurement and benchmarking of key aspect of diversity, equity, and inclusion regarding race and racial identity at Bowdoin.
The survey was developed by the Race and Equity Center at the University of Southern California. In addition to providing data about Bowdoin’s racial climate, it will allow us to compare ourselves to other liberal arts colleges in ways that will advance our DEI work.
The survey will take about fifteen minutes to complete and your responses will be completely confidential. Completed surveys are sent directly to the NACCC survey team—Bowdoin does not have access to any identifiable information from individual survey respondents. For more information about the survey, visit Bowdoin’s NACCC survey FAQ page.
Please look in the next day or so for an email inviting you to participate in the survey from Benje Douglas, associate vice president for inclusion and diversity and director of Title IX, gender violence prevention and education. I urge every student to participate—this is one way we make Bowdoin better.
Many thanks,
Clayton
