It is my sad duty to inform the Bowdoin community of the death of trustee emerita C. Lee Herter P’76, P’77, H’13 at the age of ninety-one on September 20, 2022, in Manchester, Massachusetts.

Michael Reed (1952–2022)

I am very sorry to write again today with sad news. Our friend and former colleague Michael Reed—who served as Bowdoin’s inaugural senior vice president for inclusion and diversity—died today, having succumbed to cancer while in hospice care in Pennsylvania. He was sixty-nine years old.

John C. Rensenbrink (1928–2022)

I am saddened to report that John C. Rensenbrink, professor of government emeritus, political activist, founder of both the Maine Green Party and the Green Party of the United States, and a figure highly respected and admired by generations of Bowdoin students, died on Saturday, July 30, 2022, just a month short of his ninety-fourth birthday.

Guenter H. Rose

It is my sad duty to inform the Bowdoin community of the passing of Guenter H. Rose, associate professor of psychology and psychobiology emeritus, on January 12, 2022, in Vista, California, after a long battle with Lewy body dementia.
