President’s Summer Cookout a Fun Gathering for Students Working on Campus
By Bowdoin News
On an evening in early July, President Safa Zaki welcomed students who are working and living on campus to what has become an annual tradition over the past several years.
Inclement weather moved the cookout, usually held on Coe Quad, indoors to Barry Mills Hall. The meal, provided by Bowdoin Dining, gives students the opportunity to break bread with each other and also to sit down with the president, deans, and other staff.
There are more than 300 students on campus over the summer, working on research fellowships or in professors’ labs to do their own independent study projects with faculty mentors.
