Bowdoin Announces Recipients of Common Good, Alumni Council Awards

The Common Good Award, selected by the Bowdoin College Board of Trustees, and the Alumni Service Award and Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff, chosen by the Alumni Council, recognize members of the Bowdoin community for their exemplary achievement and dedication.

Common Good Award
Juan P. Bonilla ‘95 has made it his life’s work to lift up his home community of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and its residents. He has devoted his skills and expertise in personal finance, management, housing, and economic policy, as well as his passion for social justice and economic opportunity, to provide a better life for the diverse low- and moderate-income population he serves. For his efforts, Bonilla has been selected to receive the 2020 Common Good Award.

Alumni Service Award
For her long and outstanding devotion to the College, Staci Williams Seeley ‘90 has been named the recipient of the 2020 Alumni Service Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Bowdoin Alumni Council.

Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff
For her seemingly tireless dedication, the Alumni Council has chosen Eileen Sylvan Johnson, lecturer and program manager in environmental studies, to receive the 2020 Alumni Service Award for Faculty and Staff, presented each year for service and devotion to Bowdoin, its students and alumni.
